I'm not sure what year it was, but the Eagles had been crappy, I think at the time only going 2-14 or something a long that line. The last game of the year, Santa was to appear at half time. The Eagles were actually winning, and the fans didn't want this. If Philly had lost that game they would have been able to draft O.J. Simpson, but there was no chance that was happening. Fans were already pissed about that, then annoucement came over the loud speaker just before half time that the season ticket prices were going up, and that just made people even more upset. Then, the final straw, the moron that was dressed up as Santa walked out on the field, not wearing a beard or hat, and was DRUNK out of his mind. Those three events combined just made for a bad situation.

I using my memory so if i am a little incorrect i apologize, but one year , lng time ago, Philly was having a bad season, and during one of the games Santa was suppose to come out at half time and didnt show up. There was a Philly fan in the stadium dressed as Santa, they asked him to take the place of the missing SAnta, fans were upset they were losing and because the regular SAnta didnt show, so they began to boo the replacement, and throw snow balls at him....

Philadelphians did boo Santa Claus -- well, what was a sad excuse for one, anyway. The original Claus (not Kris Kringle) failed to report, and the replacement was a skinny, drunken fan from the crowd at an Eagles game

They weren't doing well in the game. Philly has the worst fans, so they'll boo anything.

Because their fans are just plain as$es like that. Come on they boo everyone and everything. They just like to boo in general I think.
