I would have to say Iron Maiden because not only are they a bunch of incredibly talented musicians but they have survived for so many years without lowering the quality of their music and have served as inspiration for countless other bands...

Each era has a best My current favorites are Corrosion of Conformity and Pantera but they are from the 90s (I'm on a 90s kick) but it all depends on the era like in the eighty's I would have to say early 80s Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, late 80s Metallica and Megadeath, 70s Black Sabbath and Nazareth. there ya go man.

I used to say Metallica. But, that was before they started putting out Loads and Reloads of crap. The two that come to mind as the best of all time, meaning they shredded 10 years ago and they still shred, are Anthrax and Slayer.

It's hard to say who is best but I don't think Mettalica even comes close. Megadeth,Pro-pain, Sepultura, Kilgore, Black Label Society, Motorhead,SLAYER etc etc . Go on the WSOU website,Seton Hall's Pirate Radio!

Metallica of course is top of the list....Godsmack....System of a down....Avenged Sevenfold is pretty good....some Slipknot....some Trapt....now old school, megadeth and Anthrax!
