When you earn a degree for History - what then are your options besides teaching?

I have not earned a degree for History. I have applied to Colleges and declared History as a major. I'd rather get into acting or film making, but i doubt the parents go for it... If i can get into CSU Long Beach or Northridge i think i will change my major to have to do with film. Or i want to get into the Mixed Martial Arts world.

You can be a researcher, analyst, archivist, legal assistant (or go to law school and become a lawer). You can get into business (a lot of businesses look for historians). You can become a journalist or get into civil service (if you feel like going to grad school you can become a Social Worker).

History is one of the most popular liberal art subjects to major in. Thus plenty graduate college with a history degree. With it you could teach high school, go to law school, also become a journalist. A lot of reporters were history majors in college.

Historian or museum curator. This is a very limiting degree. You might want to think about this one.

Never date a history major......they'll just keep talking about their past relationships.
