Free Directory Assistance?

Is there any such thing as Free Directory assistance. You used to be able to look up phone numbers on line, now all I get are places that charge 5 dollars? Where can I go? Yellow and White Pages. com charge.

www.yellowpages.com and www.whitepages.com do not charge for their services. If you want more than an address or phone number, sometimes they will have a link and that site charges.
You will need to know either the name of the company or a phone number for reverse look up.
Try google also if you know what you are looking for. You might find their website with phone, fax and email information too.
