I did one today just for kix and giggles, they said I would get a free plasma tv, so I read the fine print and they want you to sign up for product testing. okay, so I keep reading, and we get to the part about "when we offer you a reatil product for testing, you assume responsibility for full payment of item, yadda yadda..."

remember, if it sounds too good to be true....

Messages like that have a name - Its called SPAM . You are right in figuring that it sounds too good to be true, cause it is.

I would suggest that you don't even open such messages, since some of these emails can have images or hyperlinks embedded in them, which when your computer reads them, can cause it to

a) report back to the spammer that your address is a valid address
b) get infected by a computer virus or spyware
c) both a and b

Spammers make money by selling the addresses that they harvest from the web to other people who are trying to get hold of email addresses. Like some one above me posted, the fine print (when present--most of the time the fine print is not even shown) will say that you have to sign up for a card or sign some contract before you get the offer.

My suggestion, just delete such messages without even opening them.

NO NEVER!!

There is no such thing as a free meal. If it's not spam, there may be coding in the free item that acts as spy ware. Be VERY careful!!

They are either a scam, or something that you'll get for completing a series of offers which require you to spend money. Just delete them, nothing in this life is for free...
