I think I would turn it wrong side out and suds it up and down in a deep bathtub of warm water maybe take a brush and brush off the excess. That should help rinse the soap out and clean it . When you think it is out, turn it back to right side out and hang from a hanger under a heating element.

What kind of material is the back pack? If it is a nylon or cotton i would wash it in cold water and let it air dry. You probably won't need an soap, because the body wash will take care of that for you.

Put it in the washer on delicate. I don't suggest the dryer - hang to dry.
or if you have a sprayer in your sink, just use the sprayer and warm water. Rinse and hang to dry.
