You need to take your guinea pig to the vet! We just had to take our guiea pig to the vet since he had mites and the total was only $40 with meds! So it's not always high! Guinea pigs and rabbits CAN NOT be housed together. Rabbits have a LOT of strength in those back legs and can KILL your guinea pig by kicking. Guinea pigs are little trouble makers and chew on everything! I have heard of a guinea pig that lived with a rabbit, nibbled on the rabbit, the rabbit kicked it, and the guinea pig suffered with brain problems for a while, then died. Please separate them ASAP! Go to http://www.cavycages.com , there's some info on keeping them together. As said earlier you have two choices 1- Vet; 2- she dies. I'm sorry but I believe that the moment you buy an animal you are responsible for it's veterinary needs whether the animal cost you $10 or $500 you are responsible to pay whatever the price for it's care. And the username Paul whatever was wrong about them only living 2 years. One of my guinea pigs lived to be 6 and died of old age, another lived to be 12! So it really just depends. She's obviously sick and relying on you to take her to the vet.

what the hell where u thinking!?!?!?!?!?!!??! You should never ever put guinea pigs and rabbits in the came cage because rabbits can kill guinea pig by sitting on them, eating all the food and basting them agenst a wall. It also sounds like she has diarea or constipation (mingging) Urealy need to take her to the vet, but i think she might be dieing if she is over 2 or 3 then it is a posibilaty. im realy sorry. lots of my guinea pigs hav died in fact 1 has just die just be for i anserd this question and my das is a way i should phone him and tell him coz it was his favorit 1 and was 1 of my favorit 1s. and ur vet is rong its extreamy rear 4 a guinea pig to live to 8 the average life span is 3 to 6 years. i should know i hav 23 of them.

This could be thrush. Its nothing to worry about, every woman gets it at some stage in their life. Its caused by dampness, maybe due to your period as you've never used tampons previously. Thrush cream is available from your doctor or any pharmacy. I recommend you goto your doctor though, if you think it's spread inside, because (this sounds scary i know) but you doctor will give you a tube you insert inside your self and squirt the cream in. Its not as bad as it sounds though. I can imagine you aren't really wanting to tell your mum, so pop into your nearest pharmacy and purchase some thrush cream (caneston duo) and rub it around your sore area. Do this morning and night for about a week and your symptoms should disapear. If you still experience discomfort then you MUST MUST MUST see your doctor and tell your mum. Hope i've been of help. Let me know if your symptoms clear up :) Lauren 15 x England

Don't worry about the money, take her to the vet, they won't turn you away, just explain. until you take her, take her away from smokey and put her in a smaller warm place with a blanket and some water, let her rest. I'm very sorry huni, but to be honest I don't think this is looking good, take her to the vet as soon as you can and do your best to keep her comfortable until the vets can take care of her. All the luck sweetheart, hope she gets better real soon

Sounds like she needs a visit to the vet ASAP!

I know they have "wet tail" treatment at the pet store for HAMSTERS, but not sure if guineas get that too or not.

For future reference... all the info I've seen says that rabbits and guineas should not share living space. A lot of people do it apparently, but most of the sites I've seen advise against it. Check out the rabbit and guinea pig (cavy) sites online and I'm sure you'll find tons of info. I THINK disease is one of the reasons they advise against it.

Good luck... hope your piggie pulls through!

PS... you're right. Guinea pigs live WELL beyond 2 years. Whoever said that doesn't know a think about pigs. Even hamsters can live longer than that!

RSPDA will happily help you if you are getting any kind of housing benefit. If you arent then u need to go to any private vet and explain your situation.
They shouldnt refuse to help as there is an animals health at risk.
There is always the choice of doing overtime at work or asking a friend or family member for help

If you really love your Guinea pig that much, and you are a youngster, ask your mom or dad to take him to the vet. He may have what is called scurvy. Your little pet may be in trouble so if your parents love you, they would gladly take him to the vet. Until then, if your bunny and pig are still together, separate them until your little piggy gets better.

You need to take her to the vets - regardless of whether you have any money or not - it would be cruel to continue like this. Phone the RSPCA or PDSA as soon as possible and explain your circumstances - I'm sure they will be able to help. Some vets let you pay over a long period of time. So get it sorted!

I'm sorry about your pet. I am not sure what she has. Go to the vet. Money can be earned again, a pet's life can't. Bathing might not help. I'm not sure if what she has is contagious, so seperate your bunny from her immediately. Believe me, a vet will be the best thing for your conscience and your pet. I wish you and your pet the best of luck.

PLEASE take her to the vet as soon as possible as if you don't she will die. it doesn't care about money when your pet is seriously ill. is the rabbit a male? if so the rabbit may have tried to mate with the guinea pig and seriously damaged the piggy. i have three guinea pigs and they are well cared for so i know. the vet will work out a payment plan so you may not have to pay all at once. i hope your poor piggy will get better soon.best wishes.
