Not successful, probably not even prestigious but certainly a big club. Simply by the fact of playing in the premiership long term with a huge stadium and very loyal fan base. Not a Sunderland supporter are you?

It's the huge fan base and the stadium. Also, Shearer was the best in Europe when he went there and Owen is there now. Seem to have the ability to attract big name players. Think it boils down to the fact they are a big club.

i agree with matt newcastle have some great and passionate support they deserve more than they get.
