I have my screen actors guild card and have been working in the industry for over 20 years now....so here is what you need to do.

1. Finish your education - High School and if in College, complete college...because this translates on film. If you read better, write better, speak better and present yourself with more confidence -- you are always a better actor.

2. Get a Black and White headshot taken of yourself. NOBODY is too old, ugly, skinny, fat or whatever to make it. Look at some of the actors who have. There are all types of character actors that make it! When you get your picture taken, try to get someone that knows what they are doing without charging you an arm and a leg. Have them take a nice photo from the shoulders up, close, but not too close up. If you are male just try to 'look like yourself', female, same thing and skip a lot of the plaster (makeup).

3. Go online to http://www.sag.org/ to find reputable agencies/agents in your area

4. Usually your state or local area will have film announcements online...like Chicago has a State Film Commission...or California or North Caroline for example. Go to those sites and see what is currently being filmed in your area and how you can start working on those productions.

5. Go to a larger bookstore and find the periodicals in the magazine section. Variety and Backstage West are very good to read and glean information on jobs.

6. DO NOT pay for MODELING CLASSES. Reputable agencies will not charge you other than a small picture fee.

Last evening I went to an audition for "Ugly Betty" and got the job. There were some children auditioning for a part and those boys were heavy set, and one boy was cute but quite heavy and he works ALL THE TIME. It doesn't matter. There are parts for all types of people!!!!

Read all the information the SCREEN ACTORS GUILD SITE as they will teach you a thing or two of how to avoid the crooks and disreputable people! GOOD LUCK and BREAK A LEG!

Maybe you could make a show about how ugly and chubby you are. No offense, but there are alot of ugly and chubby people on tv. Maybe you could do a true life (mtv) documentary on how you are too ugly and chubby to appear on tv.

Or make a friend of your "steal your car" and "kidnap you". Then, come back unharmed a year later with your friend in another country. For sure you'll be on tv!

You might want to try being an extra. On the west coast, they are constantly filming either movies or TV shows, I'm sure you could be an extra in some shows...Or you could get in the gym and lose weight :-D j/k

Rob a bank near the Television Studio. Make it a long standoff with cops and your sure to get on TV. I don't recommend it though.

Keep on trying. It's your right not to change your appearance. If it would help to change to reach your goal, change.
