I need to Email US Goverment Officials (who can make a difference in our world) a letter (up to 10 officials) for extra credit for my ENG101 class.

There are white house "staffers" who will check the e-mail account. If the staff member or Intern think that the e-mail you write is pertinant... it will begin moving up the line!

You can go to the WHite House's website, but I can tell you right away that you're not going to get a reply from a human being. I too had an assignment where I had to e-mail a government official, and the White House/President was an option. All I got was an automatic response "Thank you for e-mailing the White House" message.

I'm pretty sure he has no clue how to set up or even check an email account. I would try contacting local officials and include a local newspaper email address in the "send to" section. They will be much more likely to contact you back when they see that the media is aware that you tried to contact them. Who knows, you may even get your picture and a write-up in the paper. I bet your English teacher would pee their pants in excitement.
