Click on the item through your system. Have a look at 'Payment Details'. This persons address may be there. If so, go round and punch his freaking lights in and call him a thief. Contact ebay as well. Have a look at his previous history. If he has a lot of transactions, he will not stay away for long and may pop up as another user. Ebay will still link him to his previous name though. If he reappears, think of a way you can fleece him back using a good friends account. Arrange to meet him, or get his new address under the guise of a transaction. You will then have your evidence for the Coppers. He will reappear - be sure of that.

If you paid through your bank account, get the police involved. You will need their help to get the details from his bank of who he is and an address.

If you paid through Paypal, then use their 'Protection' scheme and follow the instructions on the website. There is nothing to stop you getting the police involved here either!

If you met him in a dark alley and paid him cash, I think you are a bit knackered!

It might be a Post Office fault! Check your local office to see if they have tried to deliver something and the card got lost - especially if you have a shared 'Hallway' to your residence!

Oh - and tell us who he is so that we can avoid the thieving little toe rag.

Good Luck.

If you check the t&c on ebay you will find that they can't delete their account until contacting an administrator and also several months go by. They have more then likely changed their ebay name. Do you have their address if so stick it on here and If its near me ill pay them a visit for you.

File a complaint with ebay. To sell on ebay a person has to setup with a credit card. Ebay should be able to get you a refund.

Did you pay through Paypal? If so put a claim in to them. If not you can still claim through Ebay though you don't get a postage refund with either. Good luck I have had a few like that but it general it's very safe.

Not a lot unfortunately. Report to eBay as a first step. If you paid by Paypal, you may be elligible for refund. If you paid by cheque and its been cashed, ask your bank for the account details the cheque was cashed by and report to the police (probably not worth doing for a few quid!)

The lesson I think is to not trust Ebay for any transactions more than around £50.

Anything more than this meet the person in person and pay cash.

you should report it to ebay directly. it could be an error in their system or it could be a scam. keep all the reciepts and payment details that you got by email from the order as proof of purchase and keep at them until it is resolved. Hope you get sorted out.
