I don't know why parents would do that. But my parents do the same thing to my little sister. She doesn't have a good voice at all, she doesn't know how to sing! And yet whenever she sings, which is all the time, my dad always comments on how she is ten times better than the American Idol people who get put through. So i guess it is a mutual parent thing, like when they have kids they lose a part of their hearing and sense that says that their kid can't do something.
Anyway, I pray to God I will never be like those american idol contestant's parents.

If my new child exchange right into a bad singer, i could tell them that i don't likely think of that American Idol may be the perfect concept, because of the fact there are alot of human beings finding out, some that are the perfect around the country. and that i could tell them they ought to attempt for something that would not have lots competetion. *Danielle*

Probably because the parent is scared of having a child that just gives up on anything they try. Better to have a motivated child than a slacker....BUT...telling your child who sucks that they have talent is somewhat cruel as it definatley sets them up for failure. The fact that these "Losers" don't curl up in a ball and start crying shows that they at least have some internal pride and will hopefully make the most at what they have.

She should have been comforting. I think she was trying but you can't just tell people waht they want to hear. Honesty is always the best policy. Maybe the judges were right he should go on America's Got Talent. Some of these people should never have gone on the auditions. It's funny to watch people make a**es of themselves. But come on!! This is a singing competition. Can't we be serious at some point in time?

Because it's his mom. Parents are supposed to be like that. But that whole show is bogus. Every contestant on there is lied to. The judges you see on there aren't the first judges they see. They go through a series of judges before they get on the show, and they are lied to, they're told they can sing. Then they get on the show and get their feelings hurt. It's all a publicity stunt. It's pathetic, really. They want people to get made fun of and get their feelings hurt just for publicity and money.

being a mother 'you don;t think your child is bad at singing or juggeling.if they told their kid'hey you suck;the kid would get a complex and mite never come out again...like i tell my son..try your best at whatever you do.and winning is not everything...some parent start criticizing kids at a young age'and lots of times those kids have no self worth.....you have to love your kids no matter what,,, if their gay'thats their life'and what makes them happy'makes me happy,,,live and let live,,

Sometimes the parent is delusional as the child is. They just want the best for their child, and somehow just are blind to see if they have talent or not.

because parents have a bad habit of enabling their children instead of telling them the truth.
