elements, what represent them?

I'm looking for ideas for what shows elements. Fire, earth, air, and water. For example, air = wind. or earth = mud. Any other ideas about them. What phiscaly can stand for the elements?

I can think of the simple things, i want ideas out side of the box, other things that aren't the first thing that comes to mind

Actually the periodic table represents the elements. Hydrogen, helium, ect. Fire, earth, air, water are made up of elements, but are not actual elements themselves.
