4/7k + 2/3 = 11/21

4k/7 + 2/3 = 11/21
multiplying through by 21,
12k + 14 = 11
12k = -13
k = -13/12

4/(7k) + 2/3 = 11/21
multiplying by 21k,
12 + 7k = 11k
4k = 12
k = 3

I got the answer -1/4 also.
Subtract 2/3 from both sides of the equation.
Multiply the fractions on both sides by 7 and it gets rid of the fractional value of k.
Then you have 4K = (77/21)-(14/3)
Do the subtraction on the right side of the equation and your result is -1 (your common denominator during subtraction is 21).Then you have 4K=-1.
Divide both sides by 4.
K=(-1/4)
