I'm currently in the process of writing my thesis on this topic and I was wondering if anyone out there could point me towards any books, magazine articles, or websites/ web articles relating to the topic. Thanks guys!

Note: There's a good chance a lot of my thesis will be based on observations. However, I do need actual articles/sources as a requirement for the thesis.

Hmmm, maybe start on explaining how the Book of the Celts used alot of graphics to put the point across for each chapter... then maybe go into how they used to use pictures to tell a story, because lot of people couldn't read but could look at a wall, or a ceiling, (Sistine Chapel) and relate to a sermon from the images displayed there. The I would research new churches, and how they now use plasma screens, and catchy images like flames from a chopper or dark Gothic lettering to try to steer the "Next generation" of worshipers. Hope this helps.

Art and the Bible by Francis Schaeffer is pretty good and his son wrote Addicted to Mediocrity which is less philosophy and more art. I think those would help alot even though they aren't specifically graphic design.

My suggestion is the subject rely of "Branding", employing persuasion in merchandising layout and/or ethics interior the layout container, Following is a quote from my source for that : "designers discover themselves working for hobbies with which they don't agree, agreeing to issues they don't basically cost, condoning loss of integrity as a helpful means. ... what the countless perfect minds in layout as we communicate think of is happening on the "content cloth-element" of the occupation."
