I had a period Dec 25 (Merry Christmas to me), however it only lasted 3 days when it normally lasts 5-6. Anyway.. took fertilty tests again 1/01, 1/04, & 1/07 & all came up with 2 lines??? That's weird thing #1. Also took pregancy tests about every 3 days from12/28 until 1/07 ( my best friend works at a hospital, so I get them for free) all preganacy tests were negative... to make a long story short, took another one last night & it was positive. Is it possible I had a false positive result??? If not, how far along might I be??? How accurate are the doctor's calculations??? Sorry so may issues, but weird thing # 2 is I have NEVER been pregnant & I will be 29 yrs in 2 weeks... Thought I couldn't get pregnant; so I don't want to get happy to be disappointed. Thanks for any info!

Most likely you are pregnant. Congratulations!!! Your baby's due date would be Oct. 2nd. This is figured by counting back 3 months from the first day of your last period and adding 7 days. You should consider youself as being 3 weeks pregnant today. This is based on a 40 timeable pregnancy. You could deliver any where from 38-42 weeks. Your due date is on a Wednesday, so next week you will be 4 weeks along. Most likely the other tests came back negative because it was too early for the test to read the pregnancy hormone in your system. Congratulations and good luck!

That happened to me to I took so many test that came out negative until i took an ept test and it came positive. I went to the clinic and at fist they said it was a negative until i told them about the test results that i got and they checked again, it was positive. The second line was very faint but it was there. I was a month and one or two weeks pregnant. And yes you can still be pregnant cause my cousin was 39 when she got pregnant and she thought the same thing about her not being able to have kids. My niece is 9 months old.

Please see your doctor for a blood test. Not all women ovulate on a predictable schedule, and who knows what could have been going on with you hormonally to give you that faint ovulation positive. Generally with home pregnancy tests, the conventional wisdom is that any positive is a positive. However, there is no way to know from an HPT whether it's a viable pregnancy. You could have a viable pregnancy, you could have what's called a chemical pregnancy, or it could be ectopic.

Please go see your doctor, and good luck!

P.S. If you are pregnant, my guess is that you were pregnant when you had your "period." That would put you at about 7-8 weeks, depending on when you really ovulated.

what do you mean fertility tests? do you mean ovulation tests? and generally you won't get a "false positive". you may have been testing too early for the other tests to show up positive. also, if you are on any medications that could give you a false positive (but then that wouldn't explain all of the other negatives) my advice to you would be to go to the doctor to get a blood test. you should be far enough past your missed period to do so.

It is possible to have false positive, but not likely. I had never had one with both my pregnancies. I would suggest having your doctor draw blood to be sure. When they do this they will look at your HCG levels and these are pretty accurate. When I was pregnant with my son I had no idea how far along I was with him and when the drew me they told me I was 4 weeks, which was right on.

there is a slim chance that you might be pregnant. since you took so many tests and only one came up positive, then there is just a little chance that you are. however, to be safe, take another one in a few weeks to determine your answer.
