On the WB there were 2 hour long shows competeing for an hour long slot, 7th Heaven got the "call" but which show had it's debut bumped to January because of this competition. This show had a Spin-off that was also pretty popular for the network (I think that gave it away).

Ok only 1 answer, and unfortunately it isn't right. The lead was a blonde and she lived in California. The spin-off also took place in Cali and there are rumors of a movie with the people in this "universe"
