For example, If you were to watch the ending of "The Natural" without the intense background music, would you feel like you were just watching another baseball game? That whole slo-mo tingly music right before he blasts the ball into the lights makes the hairs on my neck stand up.... Yeah, I'm all corny today...

I really don't think music sets the scene. Music sets the mood.
The scene is the visual, it's what we see, not what we feel.
Music makes us feel. The visual makes us see what we feel.
The two combined are magical.
