A bad thing about American populism is that if a politician is said to be someone who unites; that is a good thing, but if one is said to be a divider, then that is considered a bad thing.
Politics is division by definition, I want more division, and I want it to be sharper and more polarizing. What do you think?

Meeeeeeee- Politics- opinions one has regarding political questions. Now with three hundred million people in the country is it reasonable to assert that there will be divisions concerning an opinion about a political issue? Yes, it does. Should there be? Yes, there should. When a country ceases to divide itself among political lines regarding issues that confront the nation, and becomes mindlessly unified without division and decent, democracy ceases to exist. The country faced an issue in the 1800's regarding segregation. The Republicans formed their political party in order to counter the opinion of democrats that blacks ought to remain slaves because of its benefit to the U.S. economy. Divison is key to democracy, and when it ceases to exists, then you have countries like Iraq. Wake up.

Benny- I'm not quite sure what you being a paramedic in Iraq has to do with anything, but good luck and stay safe over there.
You're correct about the current state of political affairs in the country, but division is key to democracy. You can be divided regarding a political issue and still united as an American. Without division and decent, there is no democracy. When nobody challenges authority, then authority has a blank check to do whatever it wants. Take Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, or Saddam Hussein's Iraq; these countries commited terrible acts of autrocity, and started many wars to expand their own power and influence, and the government did these things easily because there was no opposition to the government's policies.
