I don't know what to exactly think of the guy. Honestly, I want Rudy Guiliani to become the next president. But to my question...

I think it's crazy that Obama's name will (or has already become) an issue to people. Again, I'm NOT a supporter of his but I just think it makes everyone look stupid when I see or hear posts, forums, media, etc saying how people won't vote for him b/c his name sounds like Osama and his middle name is Hussien. I'm a communications major so I understand the power of name in a messenger but still it just gets me that people would not consider him b/c of his name. Have we gotten that dumb? What if his name was American Jesus Christ? Would that make people feel better?

a rose by any other name is still a rose. The same holds true for a Bush, you can fertilize it, prune it, shape it but its Still a bush. I will not waste my one vote obama because its simply not his time yet. He may very well be a great politician but he is unelectable. As far as the media and the name, the media and the political party in power will do whatever they can to discredit and slander anyone who dares to run. Its sad that in 2007 a politician cannot run on his or her on merit without trying to slander their opposer.. Its a sign of the times we live in when the american public accepts this type of behaviour instead of demanding that the opposer stand on his or her on record instead of attempting to point out the shortcomings in their opponent.

I regret to inform you that image is everything. Before his trail burns any brighter, people will do whatever it takes to tarnish Obama's name and his political goals. The man takes a breather from the stress and tight collared world of politics to crack a joke and make fun of the rumors surrounding him before an NFL game and all of a sudden he is, "IRRESPONSIBLE" and has joked about a "NON-LAUGHING MATTER". A typo was made on a news broadcast that he had appeared on and the footer read, "Senator Barrack OSAMA." He made a statement the next day stating that it was no big deal and that he was sure it was a typo even though, and I quote, "the S and the B are kind of far apart on the keyboard," followed by him chuckling. I wish more politicians would stop and enjoy life more often as he so easily does. He knows the stakes are against him... he knows in many households the sterotype linked to his name holds president over his goals and his morals, but that's the great thing about Obama. He doesn't mind... and he doesn't give in to the negativity around him.
It's just dirty politics and he knows how to rise above it.

It's silly, but in the age of election by television an ugly person will never be elected either, or a woman with gray hair. Just ask Hillary about that who's gone blond rather than going gray.

Have we ever had a president whose last name ends with a vowel?

It's only an issue because the media makes it an issue.

some are just trying to annoy. some are so loyal to their party, they would bash jesus. it is an attempt at discrediting him because he is democrat, black and they know nothing about him.

he is not a muslim. can you people at least find a real reason to hate him?

a party makes every attempt to bash the other party? explain bush and rove bashing McCain? it is when myself and others lost respect for him. political career or not, never let anyone attack your family or personal life. party should not come before family

It make the republicans feel better to berate someones name. Every time they talk about him now they mention his middle name which they never do with anyone else.

George Walker Bush, William Jefferson Clinton, George Herbert Walker Bush, Barack Hussein Obama...

One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others...
