My last mattress was a King Koil which I was very happy with. We bought a Sealy and I haven't slept in my bed in two years. I need something simple and soft. I don't want one that needs a ladder to climb into. And who came up with all those lumps a bumps. These hurt my back and cause severe pain in my spine. Aside from the fact that I don't get any sleep, I get up stiff and sore. Is there anyone with similar problems? Did anyone find a solution to this? I would appreciate any advice.

I tried the memory foam pad from Cosco and had to return it the next day. It was not comfortable at all. I sank in, it was very hot and I couldn't stand the smell. I thank you all for taking the time to answer.

I would advise you to be specific about your needs. It doesn't matter what others say, it's your back and your comfort that matters. If you are use to sleeping on a soft mattress, don't let the salesman convince you otherwise. I have tried the memory foam and did not like it. Some do. Look at your needs and no one Else's. Everyone will try to convince you that this or that is better. To them, maybe. Try several, and don't buy on a last minute decision. Be sure. And ask them to specify exactly what their 30, 60 or 90 day trial periods consist of. We were told we had 90 days to decide, risk free, and two days later when we went back to exchange it for something else, were told that there would be a charge. So much for free. When we pointed it out, they said they would drop the charges.

I know it sounds weird, but a sleep number mattress is what my husband and I bought the last time. I absolutely adore it. It IS true about being able to adjust the settings to be personalized. I thought it was going to be crappy until the first night I slept on it.
I was in a car wreck in my teens where I suffered a cracked disk and suffer from sleep problems due to it (even still). This is the best mattress I have found so far. I tried the "memory foam" mattress with no luck...I seemed more achy and stiff the next morning with that than any other I have had. I wish you luck, and truly hope you find something that you will be comfortable with, I know how frustrating it can be. Have you asked your chiro what bed she/he recommends? That might be another way to get a good lead on a mattress. Take care!

A few years ago I bought like 3 mattress all names you mentioned and others. They all sagged in the middle. I hate that. I was sleeping on firm ones then. I even tried a waterbed. Well after all this and a few thousand $ later. I bought a soft LockportCity mattress. It's the best mattress I've ever sleep on. I don't live in NY state anymore. But if this one goes, I'll go back too get another from Lockport Mattress.... maybe lockportmattress.com Good Luck

My solution was to get a "Memory Foam" 3" pad to put on top of the mattress! I got it at www.overstock.com for a great price. They come it all sizes and thicknesses. I also bought them for my kids in college (even the extra-long dorm size) and they loved them, too! It's a lot cheaper than buying anywhere else, and much cheaper than a new mattress!

Any matress, then a down comforter for the princesses. The comforter is to sleep on top of. It makes it very soft.
