I love all three Saw movies. They're just the best. They're not just mindless gore, but they're well thought out and clever. I mean, the tests he puts them through are great, and not once have I ever properly guessed the ending to one. So yeah, those are my favorite.

it would be a mixture of answers. top rated would be halloween. it's not supremely scary, but it carries a lot of suspense and the action on screen is more believable than any of the other horror flicks i've seen. but i could also say exorcist. it's pretty damn freaky and supposedly based on actual events. if you watch it carefully you can even spot a couple spots where a superimposed demon face flashes briefly onto the screen. weird...
but my absolute favorite would be evil dead 2. that movie is just awesome funny.

The original Amityville Horror was great.. It had a very real feel to it... and it was "based on actual events". I like movies that deal with ghosts more than over the top character like Freddy or Jason.

Technically, this movie was a bomb, but I loved it.
"Feast" the Project Greenlight movie..
It was so funny and a little scary. But the characters were so colorful. There was a lot of surprises, I laughed the whole time.

The original 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' (1974).
The reason I love it is because it was so bizarre, unique, odd, and esoteric.

The Exorcist (1973). I like it because it is about confrontation...what it will do to different types of individuals.
