First DO NOT listen to these people. You don't need to spray a b dragon, nor do u need to wash it. go to kingsnake.com look up the b dragons in the forums if my answer doesn't help. The animal you speak of comes from a very hot very dry part of Aussie land. though it rains on occasion most if not all of their moisture comes from the greens they eats. a lite spray 3-days a week for young ones who maybe like little humans and not want their veggies.

Bearded Dragons need weekly soaks in a container or the tub. You use "pee warm" water armpit deep and let it soak 10-20 minutes. This is very important. As most beardies can not drink out of a water dish this provides hydration and aids shedding. It is very important that your bearded dragon gets these baths. Misting (outside the cage to avoid bringing up the humidity) does help but not as much as the baths. You should be misting your dragon's snout (a drop at a time) and getting it to lap the water up daily. Please since you don't seem to know a ton about beardies go to http://www.repticzone.com and ask questions in the bearded dragon forum. I hope you do, these people really helped me out!
To whoever said not to bath/mist: Just because they are from the desert doesn't mean they don't need water! Give me a break people! If we compare everything in captivity to the wild, our dragons would not live to be 10-15! In the wild most beardies die before age 5 from not enough water, preying animals, etc etc. That's just like saying "since large birds eat beardies in the wild, we should put a falcon in the beardie tank!". I don't think so. Not everything is "perfect" in the wilderness for beardies in Australia. I think that's something to think about.

There are alot of conflicting answers on the internet about reptiles.
I have a Bearded Dragon. He's got a water dish in his viv but I have never seen him drink from it.
I spray his greens but I also bath him every week in lukewarm water. He will often dip his head & have a good drink from the bath. The water must only go up to his armpits. He loves his bath time. Not only does it hydrate him & he seems to like it but warm baths also help if he hasnt pooed as much as usual, it 'loosens' him up.
Do what u feel comfortable with.
An excellent, friendly forum which I am a very happy member of is

No question is frowned upon & they have helped me loads!
Good Luck!!

they should get sprayed a few times a day. That's the only way that they get any water.

My Igunana loves water and swims under the water too, but lately he has been laying on his back with his feet up.
He's alive, but he likes to sun his belly.

You need to spray it to keep its skin moist unless they need a pool of water, then they will dive in when they need to.

Mist it at least once a day in when holding it. It's not for washing purposes, it's for hydration.

no way!!!
misting them can cause respiratory problems. providing a water bowl to drink and bathe in and providing greens which ahve a high water content.
do more research on them or go to a reptile specialist shop!!!
