Use crickets. Most pet stores sell them. And you'll need to get your hands on a product called "gut load" which is a dietary calcium supplement that the crickets will eat and subsequently become more nutritious for your chameleon. You can also catch things like moths and flies for your chameleon to add variety to its diet (check around your porch light at night). Chameleons are carnivores and so will have no interest in veggies.

Most species eat insects, spiders, and snails. The largest chameleons can eat small lizards and birds. In the wild, they will also eat leaves, fruit, and flower petals. Captive chameleons are usually only fed a few items and don't get a very balanced diet.
If you have a chameleon, try to feed it as varied of a diet as you can. You can buy crickets and mealworms from a pet store and catch your own outside (at least part of the year depending on where you live). Make sure if you catch your own, they are from an area where pesticides aren't used. I offer leafy greens (a leaf of romaine, collard, escarone, endive, or dandelions) once a week. Give spinach or swiss chard rarely because these interfere with calcium absorption. Also, use a good UBV light and add a calcium and a vitamin and mineral supplement twice a week to make up for what it may be missing in the diet. See the reference websites for more info.

Your question could be answered best if i knew what species you were asking about. But there are a couple species who eat some leaves, and possibly a bit of flower pedals. but for the most part chams are insectivorious, meaning they eat insects. the hard thing with them is allot don't do well in captivity as the need a wide selection of bugs, not just crickets, nor just crickets and silk worms. As many different non-noxious kinds of bugs as possible. as a little side not fruit and veggies are native where they come from lol

The best food for them would be crickets like most lizards since the crickets have the most nutrition needed. but sometimes you need to feed them other things like worms.

nope, fruits and veggies aren't native plants where they are from, the usually only eat crickets, and occasionally silkworm.
