Personal ad

My time and life were empty,
So I found myself online.
I spent hours at my computer
To fill this void of mine.
I was looking for something,
No idea what It might be.
Then I found a personal ad
In front of me.

Song writing is not about the lyrics, those are secondary. The most important part of a song is the actual melody and tone of the song. You could have lyrics equivalent to Shakespeare and if the song is crappy, then no one cares. I would focus more on the other aspects of the song besides the words if you are looking to see if you are gifted at writing music.

Hard to say. I guess I can't really answer this one because you didn't give an example of your work.... But, maybe you are. You should let some of your friends see some of your work. If they like it then take it to a recording place and let them check it out. You might have something. Goodluck!!

I don't gocrazy about it, I think you can refine it a lil bit more, but it's absolutely good if you think of some crappy hip-hop lyrics you hear on the radio :)
so keep up the good work!

first off what kind of a song writer are you... i myself am a part time song writer... if you are a good song writer you should be able to write the music... and the lyrics... they also need to mean something to someone... well allot of people... i can not be gibberish... a way to practice writing songs to get better is to write song parodies, get used to writing to a rythem... after tha you should be able to write music to your own songs... its easy... after that you should be able to write good songs...
