Does anyone know how I can effectively get rid of dust build up, especially on book shelves, without having to wipe everything everyday... Its getting really annoying, cause anything left on my counter for a week has layers of dust

a good hepa filter on your furnace can do a good job. if you leave your furnace fan on low, all the time, it will do a better job, because you are changing the air in your house constantly. you can buy room air purifiers, but you have to be care full. some do not work well, the filters can be very costly, and do not change the air often enough hope this helps. it will cost you a bit extra on your hydro bill but that's what most people recommend for the best resluts.

I had the same problem in my house which is a older home and after I had the heating ducks cleaned it made all the difference in the world. I am not for sure what kind of heating system you have you did not say but a good filter for your furnace would be good after having your heating ducks cleaned will make a BIG difference. I only have to dust about once a month now. YEA!!!

Most household dust is actually dead skin. If you have pets, they also cause dust. I use a good HEPA filter in my furnace - reduces dust tremendously.

make your own high tech air filter system for 20 bucks. the solution lies in where does all the dust come from.
