It is important to Moisturize but you really need to exfoliate your skin 3 times a week- use a beaded scrub or something that roll the excess skin off of your face- tone your skin, then follow with a moisturizer. If you want a extra smooth surface maybe you should consider using a glycolic or Lactic acid product a few times a week to help give the skin a great flawless feel

Exfoliate once a week, any more and you could strip your face. Apply an oil free moisturizer before you put on foundation. Moisturizing before bed also helps to keep your skin healthy and smooth

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize! After a shower and before you go to sleep especially. That way, when you do put on make up, your skin is not dry and chapping and you won't need to stick any extra gunk on your face to make your complexion look even.

First of all before any makeup, exfoliate. I do this with my favorite face soap and believe it or not , sugar granules.
I get my hands all sudsy and pour a little sugar in the palms, gently rub on my face, and rinse with cold water.

Use St. Ives apricot scrub, or Trader Joes "Kiss my face." Then, use a good, liquid or a liquid/powder mix, maybe from Clinique and Estee Lauder, and apply it with a large brush, the kind you use for blush. Brush outward, toward your temples.

This article talks more about using this product around the eyes, but it's also the BEST makeup primer I've ever used:

I like to mix my foundation with a little moisturizer! This works great. I take three different colors of my foundation and a few drops of moisturizer and then put it on!

try exfoliating in the shower daily and if you keep your base (makeup) in your refrigerator (sounds weird i know) it'll not only shrink your pores but it'll go on smoother and longer. That's a little trick i picked up in Cosmetology school.
