Saturate the stain with hairspray, let sit for a moment or two then use mild cleanser with warm water.

We got an ink stain out of the carpet of our last apartment (along with all of the stains of college age people living there and partying every weekend.

We rented a carpet steamer, and used Basic H and Nature Bright in it. We added 2 tsp of Basic H per gallon of water, then 1tsp of Nature Bright. You'll have to get some defoamer as well, probably from the place you rent the steamer.

We also made a spray bottle up that had a strong solution of Basic H (1 tbsp per 16 oz water) to pre-treat the spot.

it took a couple of times going over it, but it didn't damage the carpet at all, and it took up everything. After the stain was gone, we put plain water in the machine to rinse the carpet with so the soap didn't stay sitting there. It looked like they had laid new carpet when we were done.

Aerosol hairspray works amazingly well. While I was away on a vacation, my boyfriend stepped on an ink pen that blew up on my carpet. He tried to clean it up and just made it worse. It came right out with the hairspray. And this was a beige carpet.

There is a product out on the market called Erase.
Works extremely well.
Contact a professional carpet cleaning company and ask them where you can purchase this.
