I've heard that schools like that try to push you to take financial aid (a loan). They prey on people who really can't afford it. Then they're counting on you dropping out. So, they get your financial aid money and you basically get nothing but a loan to pay off. Did they try to pressure you to take out a loan or "apply for financial assistance"? That's how you'll know that they're not good. A good program doesn't have to pressure anyone to attend. All they need is their good reputation. I'm curious to know what kind of information you needed to give them in order to be accepted? You should contact sources in your chosen field and ask them how eager they would be to hire a Barbizon graduate. They will answer your question, and this way you'll be getting an honest answer from a potential employer.

I've heard negative things about them since the 80s.However it appears that each one is owned by different people. Check out your local one on the better business bureau site to see if they have complaints. I've seen some with complaints and some with none. Also try to google: Barbizon complaints to see where it shows up on other forums and what the complaints are.
