As long as you're not going to shut down the computer or copy anything else before you access your page to paste it in, you don't need to put it anywhere.

Assuming you're using Windows, the commands for copy/paste are:
Ctrl+c -- copy (also Ctrl+Insert)
Ctrl+v -- paste (also Shift+Insert)
Ctrl+x -- cut (also Shift+Delete)
When you copy text or an image, it is saved temporarily in the Windows Clipboard. If you copy something else, it will overwrite the previous clip.
For your application, select the text, copy it, then when your other page is loaded, select the desired location and paste it.
If you need to keep the text clip around longer, use Notepad as a temporary buffer.

There is more than one way to do it, but the quickest one I know is to first select the code (wherever that may be) by highlighting it with your mouse, then click on the keys "ctrl" + the "x" key (to cut), then go to wherever yo need to paste it to and click on the key"ctrl" + the "v" key (to paste).
It may take some practice but it is a quick way of doing it. Good Luck!
