my birthday is pretty soon...and i want a bunch of friends...(maybe 20 or so?) to do something...but i dont know what to do thats fun and not lame. help?

well,
Lame is such a relative term.
Sometimes that most fun is when you are with people who can take something that sounds lame and make it fun.
Kinda like trend setting.
So how about a picnic in the park, and a rowdy time on a good old fashioned play ground, especially one with a merry-go-round, teeter-totter, etc. Throw yourself a sweet sixteen by giving everyone a good chance to act six.
It sounds lame, but I bet it would work.

My daughter just had her 16th birthday. She asked to have friends over to watch movies and eat pizza and snacks. The kids were all at our house until 1 am. She said they all enjoyed themselves and no one thought it was "lame". They all were able to get away from their parents, watch movies on satellite for free and eat free food...on my dime...so they had a great time. They socialized w/o my interference and evidently had a fine time. If you can't do that at your house, maybe your folks would let you rent someplace and hire a local band that's cheap or do you know someone who'll spin CD's for cheap? One of my daughters friends had a mini-dance...but, her mom paid all that money and then hardly anyone showed up. My daughter had a better turnout at a gathering at our house than the girl who went all out. I guess it depends on how many friends you have and how much money is available. Good luck and congrats on your b-day! I hope you have a blast no matter what you do!
