I actually was an extra in a movie and believe me when I say you won't get rich.
It worked out to be $125/day plus they paid for meals. I'm talking a 12 hour work day.
But it was one of those once in a lifetime deals, so I don't regret it!

I made $100 a day for a TV show, and then the booking agent took $20. Not a great way to make money. Oh, and you don't get to be a member of the Screen Actors Guild until you've had lines in four things, I believe.
