Almost all the ones I've seen on internet shopping sites are the type that lie over the boxspring under the mattress. I hate having to wrestle my heavy king mattress every time I need get to my dust ruffle. I want the elastic wraparound kind. It also MUST have split corners since I have a 4-poster bedframe. Any suggestions?

I think domestications.com, jcpenneys (jcp.com), linensnthings.com or bednbath.com might have them. I've been looking at dustruffles and remember seeing exactly what you are looking for on one of those sites. Just use their search tool for "bedskirts".

Or buy the one you like, cut the ruffle off leaving about 3 inches of the platform fabric. Any fabric store (as an upholstery accessory) or big box linen store has these little pins that are shaped like a short corkscrew and you twist these thru the extra fabric (that you have folded under about an inch) directly into the edge of your box spring. Easy to put on and take off. Use fabric glue if you want in order to have a clean edge where you've folded under the extra fabric above the ruffle. That way you can launder it easily and the raw edge won't fray. I've even made tailored bedskirts from cheap window curtains. Just cut to size, fold and iron the raw edges, pin to the box springs. Voila!
