for christmas i got the book "the Giver" i recentlyt started reading it, last night i got up to chapter 4, but you see i...uh....*temporarily* misplaced it =[ so i just had a question to ask:
whats the releasing room and the realeasing ceremony. please answer only if you have actually read the book

It's murder. The people that are being released are injected with a fast acting poisin and die soon after. The ceremony is just a final goodbye for those being released. Sorry about spoiling it for you, but I had to answer the question! I love this book and have read it at least five times...

hey, i'm almost finished with it, it's the place when you break a rule, then you get killed and thrown out of the community. for example, if you do something worng, you go to the releasing room and they have a releasing cerimony where they kill you and kick you out and you have to go to a place called, Elsewhere.
