I asked a ton of people this when I was pregnant and didn't get a straight answer!! It feels like terrible, horrible menstruation cramps. When you think about what is happening, the uterus contracting to push the baby out, then it makes sense since period cramps are when the uterus contracts to get out the lining of the uterine wall. So, think of the worst period cramps you've ever had and multiply it by like 50% for the beginning of labor and then like 500% for hard labor! I hope this helps. Good luck!

Don't let anyone tell you that it is like period cramps- I just had my baby on Dec.27,2006.
I was in moderate pain until 7 centimeters-I had NO epidural- and then I entered the seventh circle of hell..
I felt like I had to poop a cannon ball and the pain was SO intense I couldnt breathe or focus on anything. It was very overwhelming and the pain was all you could think of and when the next contraction was coming...
When They said I could push ..
I was in heaven

Everybody feels them different. Mine felt like the first day of period cramps , that's when i first started to go into labor. I didn't even know i was in labor until my water broke. After I got to the hospital they got stronger. They will go away . And it will all be worth it when you get to see your baby !

they resemble period pain only it comes in shots cause i definitely didn't feel like anything waving. your back feels like someone is stabbing you in it as well as kicking you in the stomach at the same time. birth was not fun either.
