Sorry but heres a answer you may not like or agree with but here goes. Kirk and picard are from 2 differnent eras of the federation timelines to us they are the future to themselves they are history Kirk may be slightly rougher and hands on but thats because of the pioneering ways of his space time where as picards knowledge encompasses kirks as historical value so can play a more democratic role as a captain.plus technology for picard is different and more advanced, both of them where excellent captains of their own ENTERPRISES but for different reasons, just think about it.

Picard...he thought his way through things instead of relying on the vulcan science officer for the "logical" answer. Kirk made too many mistakes. If he was a real officer they would have court martialed him and he would never be flying the flagship of the federation

I think that Kirk was the best captain, he was smart and suave and cool, but I've got this huge, strange crush on Picard. I cannot for the life of me explain it. Same with Tim Curry.

Obviously I'm the best captain.
For a start Picards bald and couldn't pick up a deformed dabo girl if he tried.
On the other hand I can pick up the communicator and have 3 Orion slave girls waiting in the captains quarters by the time I get back from saving the whole galaxy as we know it=)

Anyone with a middle name like Tiberious is way cooler than a bald guy from Mirfield who's got a name that makes him sound like a frog.
Besides Picard is too pc, if they meet some new strange lifeform/ship old baldy wants to talk, Kirky boy would be warming up the phasers and shields before you could say - what's that? I dont know but lets kick the crap out of it.
