Global warming is a gradual event that takes place over many years and decades as is global cooling. Over the last 2 decades the global mean temp. has gone up less than one degree Celcius. Events which occur over short periods of time are almost always due to variations in the jet stream position. If the polar jet stays further north its warm. If its further south its cooler than normal. Jet stream activity is influenced primarily by sea surface temps. and other factors such as the southern oscilation. The bottom line is short term events such as a warmer or cooler than usual month or even year cannot be easily blamed on global warming or cooling. You must look at long term trends to see the effects of global warming. So the answer is no, global warming is not to blame for your high electric bill.

The condition of your appliances; windows; insulation; appliances AND the rate/settings at which you use them are responsible for high utility bills...not global warming. Global warming may produce unseasonable HIGHER temps such as in my area of Metro VA...therefore my bills have been much LOWER this winter. However, were I to be using my dishwasher, washer and driver and other appliances 24x7 the bill would be higher than it has been.

Same goes for lower temps - keeping one's thermostat at a reasonable level [68 degrees in winter] will keep your bills down...check your windows/insulation to see if you have drafts.

More likely, if it's a new heat pump something was not connected right, or it is defective. I would get it checked out.....Maybe its the fact that it has been colder this last month than the rest of the last year.

Your electric appliances are responsible for your high electric bill, not a global phenomena. Yeeesh

I say that you're confusing global climate and local weather.
