I think the Yankees have the best 3-4-5 hitters in baseball. Here are the stats that I would predict:

Alex Rodriguez .305 AVG 40 HR 123 RBI
Jason Giambi .265 AVG 33 HR 117 RBI
Hideki Matsui .312 AVG 28 HR 120 RBI

Actually first guy is really wrong. I dont know where he got his numbers considering none of them were close to right.

Alex Rodriguez 35 Homers 121 RBI .290 AVG .392 OBP
Bobby Abreau, 15 homers 107 RBI .297 Avg .424 OBP
Jason Giambi 37 Homers 113 RBI .253 AVG .413 OBP

right answer: Chicago White Sox

Jim Thome 42 Homers 109 RBIs .288 AVG .416 OBP
Paul Konerko 35 Homers 113 RBIs .313 AVG .381 OBP
Jermaine Dye 44 Homers 120 RBIs .315 AVG .385 OBP

and if you wanted to go a step further and say best 3-4-5-6 combo you would just have to add Joe Crede

Joe Crede 30 Homers 94 RBIs .283 AVG .323 OBP

The Yankees lineup will look more like this to split up the two left-handed bats of Abreu and Giambi.

3-Abreu
4-Rodriguez
5-Giambi

The Mets will have something along the lines of this.

3-Beltran
4-Delgado
5-Wright

The Red Sox will offer up this.

3-Ortiz
4-Ramirez
5-Drew

The White Sox have something along the lines of this.

3-Thome
4-Konerko
5-Dye

The Cubs could have this...

3-Lee
4-Ramirez
5-Soriano

except that Soriano wants to lead off, so more than likely it will be Jacque Jones, Felix Pie or another outfielder (they're still searching) hitting in the 5-hole.

The Tigers could have something like this...

3-Gullien
4-Sheffield
5-Ordonez

and finally the Twins will have something like this...

3-Mauer
4-Cuddyer/Hunter/White
5-Morneau

All of these teams would have to rank at the top of any list I could put together. There are other teams like the Indians, Rangers, Marlins, Astros and Devil Rays who possess solid lineups, but I didn't feel they were near the caliber of these potential lineups.

Other thoughts?

Definately the Red Sox,

3 David Ortiz, the best clutch hitter in all of baseball.
4 Manny Ramirez has a high batting average.
5 J.D. Drew although injury prone a great hitter.

The red sox. Even as a yankee fan, i have to admmit that the sox 3 to 5 tandem is extremly dangerous.

I would have to say either the Yankees or White Sox, with
Giambi, Rodriguez, and Abreu, and Dye, Thome, and Konerko.
