I personally believe that we will eventually attempt to colonize it, but it will take far more than 'building a city'. It would likely take tens of thousands of years to make it hospitable -- if it is even possible.
Also, I dno't think the earth is set to explode although some people seem to be doing their best to make it happen.

No. That is incorrect, but they are planning to build a city on Mars if that's what you mean. I do believe though that we will live on Mars one day. People claim that Mars isn't habitable for humans, but astrophysicists and other scientists say they have a solution for that. They plan to put a giant mirror in space orbiting Mars and heat up the atmosphere. The water will then melt and "POSSIBLY" cause plants to grow and release oxygen into the atmospere and get rid of all the carbon dioxide. Eventually, in maybe two or three decades, it will be habitable. Well, hope this helps.

I think we are looking at a long time till this becomes a reality as there's a lot of expense to it as well as certain problems to overcome.
There is the idea of terraforming but again something that takes money, a lot of it. Plus you don't just terraform and leave it, terraforming takes time and it's something that's never ending.
I was watching a program last night saying about what will happen to our sun in about 2 Billion years time. If we haven't killed ourselves by then Mars should become warm enough to release it's trapped frozen water and develop an atmosphere we could live in. That would only be a relatively short term solution because as the sun gets hotter again we'd have to leave and find another home.

OK, firstly, as far as we know, no man has ever walked on Mars before, so it's highly unlikely that anyone has been there long enough to build a city, and I don't think you could evacuate like....8 billion people to another planet, considering the fact that only a handful of the worlds population have ever left the Earths atmosphere.
Anyway, If we moved there, we'd only muck it up like we have on earth with global warming and stuff.

Sheesh, the Earth isn't going to explode. Where do kids get these ideas?
And, no, "we" (as in you and I) will never live on Mars. Maybe in a few generations some of our ancestors might...but it's never going to be a large number of people.

For people to live on Mars for lengthy durations would involve modifying the climate of Mars. Not likely. This is not to say that human will not make brief visits or establish an outpost with rotating crews.

I've heard it speculated that Mars' atmosphere could be made breathable, but in fact its surface gravity can only hold carbon dioxide to the surface.
I wouldn't be surprised if algae existed in Mars' past, and if it was reponsible for thinning the atmosphere.

All this is in our sub-conciuos , yes, we come from a destroyed planet ,and when we no longer can live here ,Mars might be it! We are parasites traveling and destroying all. Why do you think there is such a race to go to Mars or up to space? Ancient astronauts we will be. Hugs.
