Like Harry Potters friend, Hermione. Good example? Bad example? Anyway, I say if people do not like to see you work hard it is because they are feeling insecure about their own studies. Misery loves company, if they are not doing well at studies, they do not want others to do well either.

HELL no its not a bad thing. You will be the one who makes something out of your life. NEVER allow anyone to brow-beat you into being something that you don't want to be. Its great that you are using your brain!!!!

Yes and No. You should have an equal balance of school work and social time, but of course school work comes first.
