My husband has a job opportunity. His manager is moving up to be a regional manager, which means that he gets to move up to the manager position..... but he has a couple of options...

If he stays in the boston market, he will be under a new regional. he has a 90% chance of being a manager where he is now. I won't have to transfer my job (which I just started about 4 months ago, so i don't know if they would be willing to transfer)

or he could go to NY or CT and be a manager there. he would be put in the best market there and has an opportunity to be a District, and have more opportunities to move up. They're pretty much starting the market all over again down there, so there are more opportunities for him to move up to a stable career, such as recruiter or trainer. However, I would have to transfer, and we would have to find an apartment down there...

Should we stay here, or should we move down?

well 1 thing to look at isthe cost of living there to where you are at now if it is more then you will have to see if the new job and pay raise covers it.

if there is a higher chance for another promotion to move to ny or ct compaired to where you are at then i say move.

you've been given some good advice and could no longer problem too a lot about the crime price. i'm confident that isn't any worse than any regularly occurring city of that is length. The suburbs are high-quality. i might want to 2d the advice to a minimum of evaluate searching "over the river"...the Ohio it truly is (no longer "over the rhine", it truly is the downtown section with the better crime price). Kentucky has a lot to provide. You regularly get more effective on your funds in words of housing and that i believe taxes are more cost-effective. The commute to downtown, even regardless of the reality so that you may go back and forth for the era of between the bridges might want to correctly be a lot shorter than coming down from the north of the city. there's a mess of recent progression and progression occurring interior the Florence, Burlington and Union elements that are a touch further south than different elements suggested yet nonetheless in common words a 25 to 30 minute commute.

From my recent experience, my husband was promoted and we decided to make the move. I wanted to support his career decisions. Sit and talk with him and see what he wants to do. If he wants to move up in the company and it seems like he does this may be a wonderful opportunity that he should take. It may lead to more opportunities for his career growth. I will definitely encourage you to discuss it with him and see where he would like to be in the next five years. If it is something he would like to do and you believe in him and I'm sure you do there isn't too much to lose. Good luck to you both. :) I hope this helps you out some!

What do you think would be better for the two of you?
The second option (of moving) sounds like it would be more beneficial for both of you. I mean, you can find a job anywhere. And how difficult is it to find an apartment?

only the two of you can make the decision, but why wouldnt you want to move if there are more oppourtunities to advance for him and have a better financial gain.
you can always get another job, and you can find an apartment. who makes more money, you or the husband---go where the money and opps. are

You should definately move because he has a for sure oppurtunity to be manager but make sure he wants to work at that job for a while or its a waist of time and money

Personally, I would make the move. But you two need to sit down and weigh the pros and cons.
