honestly stereotypes piss me off. im not saying i never do it, but i avoid stereotyping. its rediculous to blanket a set of characteristics over a certain group of ppl regardless of race, how the dress, music they listen to, etc. basically people who stereotype are ignorant and a lot of times they dont get to know really great individuals based on preconceived notions! stop the nonsense! the labels are also rediculous - how can you definie yourself or another person with one word: goth, punk, emo, prep, etc. what does it all mean? i personally think its bullshit - its another way for people to build walls between themselves to feel superior or sometimes even "different from the rest of society". these words and stereotypes only separate our world even more, creating another form of prejudice. okay i know comedy is an exception - its funny. just dont take it too far!! message me if u want. bye loves!!

They're a way for lazy minds to think they understand everything and everybody.

Honestly I hate stereotypes..but sometimes they are true..that is how they came to exist..but I think stereotyping is more awful when they assume a person of a certain race or who looks a certain way is going to be what they assume..for example, if you see a pretty blonde girl, people assume she's materialistic and has lots of money like Paris Hilton...I justhate stereotypes as well...I know ppl. try to stereotype me, and I hate it. Stereotyping takes away from a person's individuality, and stereotyping is definitely at the root of prejudices and negative judgments about other people.

I do not like them because they often put the kabosh on people who do not deserve it. It is like saying, "Politicians are crooked!" which is unfair to the ones who really care and do their very best, and succeed!
To say that all Moroccans .... or all Eskimos ... is quite wrong. When I was studying the French language, our teacher, a native, taught us the difference between a general and a specific statement, two kinds of statement for which the French language makes room.
For example, if you say, "Les garcons ..." it means all the boys..... but if you say, "Des garcons ..." it means some of the boys.
So, if you wish to say, "The boys (all of them) came back from swimming around four..." you would use "Les ...", but if you wanted to say, "Some boys are really intelligent ..." you would use, "Des ..."
It is an intellectual nicety that might be incorporated into the English language.

I dont think that all stereotypes are bad, just generally most of them. Like for example, a good stereotype would be like "because you go to Yale, you get good grades". There is nothing wrong with saying that. However, most stereotypes are bad, such as racial, gender, and sexual stereotypes. And i find it wrong for people to bash EVERYONE that stereotypes, because the truth is, chances are that you have stereotyped numerous people.
like if one of your friends has a ferrari and you say, "wow, you must be rich" That is exactly what stereotyping is and so dont say that you dont do it.
Im not saying that its a good thing to stereotype, but its something that people do without meaning to and without noticing.

Stereotyping is inevitable. notwithstanding if that's as much as the guy approximately approximately notwithstanding if or not they choose the human beings off of the stereotype or notwithstanding if or not they get to renowned the guy earlier they choose them. i think of with regards to the stereotype of human beings each and all of the time (that newborn is emo, that one is punk and so on.) yet I attempt to not ensure that throughout the time of my head till i actually get to no them. different human beings think of those issues, then proceed to act and choose on the stereotypes. So Stereotypes are sturdy for locating out with regards to the guy's exterior visual charm and how they create themselves, yet they don't carry the real character, for the choose arises dig deeper.

Stereotypes... high School Syndrome when you feel you have to impress the world to be accepted.
Then you grow up to see you were nothing but everybody's fool.
That's when you start to accept yourself just the way you are. And that's when others begin to accept you.

I 100% agree!
It is insane to blanket people, thats why i dont like the terms oreo, Twinkie, whigger, or anything like that. Because you cant "act" a race you either are a race or you arent, race has nothing to do with personality so it doesnt make sense.

I never judge anybody by the stereotype of their culture. But if they conform to become that stereotype, then I will make fun of them like there's no tomorrow.

I love to see an individual eat their words when their perception on another individual or group is totally wrong.

Stereotypes are all crappy, every single one of them. I know that just because the sterotypes that I have come across are bad, all the rest of them are too.
