i suggest you do calf lifts, they help, just stand on a step, facing the staircase with the front part of your feet on the step and the back half hanging off, and lift the back part raising your self up without gettin too much on your tippy toes (you can simulate this {on ur tippy toes} going upstairs, and even when playing... excercises like these work, and a very important part of jumping is your core (abs/stomach) work these out they help big time ....

Try jumping while holding dumbells in your hands, best from a squatting position, repeat 10 or 20 times per set. As your muscles get adjusted to jumping with the increased weight, you'll have more power in the vertical leap with only your own body weight.

Just keep jumping. Try stairs, use one leg to jump 2-3 steps at a time, all way to the top, then use the other leg. This will isolate and workout your calf and ankle muscles.

When I was younger, I jumped rope to increase my vertical. I jumped for half an hour each day for three weeks and not only did it increase my vertical 3-4inches, but it also gave me more quickness and more stamina.

Good Luck.
