6 months should be fine for her to have her babies, it is the optimum time, as any older than 1 year and she will not be able to give birth to a first litter. I don't know where you read that guinea pig mothers eat the babies, but it isn't true! You can handle the babies as soon as they are dry (or about an hour after the birth) The babies are born fully-furred, and able to run about and eat solid food after a few hours!
good luck!

from time to time you may not tell if the guinea pig is pregnant till the late ranges of being pregnant. If she's pregnant she would be able to alter into very large and you will see lumps (the toddlers) below her abdomen and her head and legs and so on will stay greater or less the comparable length. she would be able to be eating and eating lots greater and interior the final ranges she would be able to not pass around lots and she or he would be able to start to bypass issues around interior the cage by using biting and ripping to make a nest for her youthful! it fairly is surprisingly obtrusive whilst she is pregnant. it is not reccomended that the mummy is positioned with a male to have toddlers over the age of a million year in spite of if it is her first clutter! As she would be able to be services to issues! If she has toddlers it often happens at night whilst it fairly is quiet and you will awaken to discover babt guinea pigs interior the cage. Take the father out as quickly as conceivable and revel interior the guineapig's they are large amazing with fur and eyes and we held them alsmost as we communicate away. The toddlers do not pass around lots till the final ranges of pregnany and that they are often pregnant for around 50-70 days. it must be the case that your guinea pig is growing to be if shes nonetheless youthful. Guinea pig's won't be able to mate and alter into pregnant till their a minimum of four weeks previous. wish this facilitates! P.S i would not reccomend breeding two times. it fairly is because of the fact issues are greater lile;y to happen interior the 2d being pregnant because of the fact the mothers pelvic muscle groups are distinctive and it ought to hold approximately a puzzling being pregnant and carry approximately the dying of toddlers. This happened to my 2d lot of toddlers. We had 5 yet 2 did not make it and the mummy had a uncooked pink and bloody backside. while her first pregnant exchange into suited without issues. x

Yeah, the age should be no problem. In fact better to have babies younger then older because of the stress.
make sure she is getting plenty of fresh veggies with Vitamin C. you should be adding vitamins to her water as well if you don't as a normal course of care.

First things first, GUINEA PIGS DO NOT EAT THEIR YOUNG, whoever told you that is totally wrong and is giving you totally wrong information. 6 months is perfect for a first time pregnancy because you don't want your girl to have her first litter when she's almost a year old. she should be fine.

she should be ok but be really careful to find out what are boys and what are girls and separate them as soon as you need to.
my ginea pig had two litters one straight after the other cuz I didn't know this and with her second labour she had teribble problems because she just wasn't ready.
ALSO, ginea pig babies are SOOO cute!
nothing like hamsters or furless little munsters, they are just mini pigs, have fun with them

She should be fine, if an animal is too young to give birth then it will not e fertile yet. Like how a human will not be able to give birth until she is old enough to have periods.

I used to raise guinea pigs. They will do what nature intended. She will be ok. If she is that young the babies may die but nature runs its course as it will.
