How many mentos does it take to make a chemical reaction with diet coke?

Usually you can use at least 7 for a two-liter of soda.
Make a paper funnel to get all the mentos in at the same time so that your hands will not melt the mentos and make it harder to put them into the soda.

The above is riight. The reaction will be more violent if you put the mentos in the refrigerator first and then smash them to crumbs before mixing them with the coke.
