Take your time and make sure you do Parenthesis first and what's attached to them. You're practicing the Distributive Property here.

3x - 2(5 - x) = -3(x - 10) + 3x

Let's distribute to get rid of the parenthesis on both sides.

-2(5 - x) = -2*5 + -2*-x = -10 + 2x (Keep in mind negative times negative is positive)

So on the left side of the equal sign we have:

3x - 10 + 2x

On the right side:

-3(x - 10) = -3 * x + -3*-10 = -3x + 30

So on the right side of the equal sign we have

-3x + 30 + 3x

So our new equation looks like:

3x - 10 + 2x = -3x + 30 + 3x

Now let's combine like terms on both sides of the equal sign.

3x + 2x = 5x and -3x + 3x = 0x

So...

5x - 10 = 30

Let's add 10 to both sides:

5x = 40

Divide both sides by 5 to get x alone:

x = 8

Hope that helped...Good Luck in your Math.

x=8.

Details:
The equation reduces to:
3x - 10 + 2x = -3x + 30 + 3x
5x - 10 = 30
5x = 40
x = 8

x = 8

3x - 2 * (5 - x) = -3 * (x - 10) + 3x

Distribute the 2 and -3.
3x - 10 + 2x = -3x + 30 + 3x

Combine like terms.
5x - 10 = 30

Isolate x.
5x = 40
x = 8

First multiply everything out..this gives

3X-10+2X = -3X+30+3X

Add like terms...this gives.

5X-10 = 30

.......

5X = 40

Divide both sides by 5 and

X=8
