Opeth r incredible... always changing their style... i dont know how well known they're in the US
ummm... project hate, they play death metal, they're european 2, but their cds r very hard 2 get, and they're anti-christian anti-god
graveworm, also european, they play gothic, 'melodic' black metal... good stuff
also there's Nile, they play death metal
