Hampstead Heath in North London has got to be the most famous cruising ground in the UK. It's busy 24/7, 365 days per year (I know people that go there on Christmas day!) and caters for all tastes.
As for dogging, my experience of Hampstead Heath is that the majority of people engaged in intimate shenanigans do not mind having an audience - I know I positively encourage it!!

Go to the bit of the canal off the famous Canal Street in Manchester near to Piccadilly. You need to cross the road past Taurus bar and head down (oo-er missus). It's overlooked by Malmaison Hotel. If you don't get lucky, continue up the street you'll end up near the train station.
I haven't been down there for years and only ever as a tourist but it was always famous on the famous Mcr gay scene.

It is best to stay indoors and safe. So try out Chariots sauna in East London. It has a £14 entry fee, but is filled with lots of up-for-it blokes.
If you insist on going outside then Hamstead Heath and Clapham common are good areas. Just try not to get killed or infected.
