I am being blackmailed by a man who I met online, and had a relationship with. We broke up a long time ago. He threatens to tell my husband about the ordeal. He recorded our msn conversations, and will amil it and fax it to my husband. He wants me to wire him $5000. And he is not in the United States at this time. What can I do. Law Enforcement, please give me your advice. Thank You

If you tell your husband, you have nothing to worry about. If you do not tell, the blackmail will go on forever.

Blackmail, a.k.a. extortion is illegal, contact the police. Tell them what is going on and give the address of this person. Also, you should talk to your husband, tell him what happened, and hope he forgives you. Better for him to find out from you than the other guy. Good luck!

If it was an online relationship, or even if it became an actual, physical relationship, your best bet is to refuse, or actually just ignore the jerk. If he does e-mail your husband, you can say you don't know the person, never heard of the person and you have no idea why he is making up stories about you.

If you pay, he will continue to ask for more and more money from you. He has no proof of anything. MSN conversations can be made up and is no proof. Or, you could always confess and hope your husband understands. Good luck.

1. Come clean with your husband.

2. Or just let him forward the chat sessions and deny the hell out of it. It's not like it's forensic proof or anything.

If you can afford it, pay him the $5,000 and make sure you secretly record him receiving the money. Also, write down the serial numbers of all the cash you give him. Take the video and the serial numbers to the police. End of story.

Tell him.. and quote me here... STICK IT UP YOUR OVERSEAS ***! Take all your documentation to the local pd and file a report, they will have to sort out the jurisdictional issues.

Then tell hubby, a clean conscience is the best defense.
