I'm going to stay and fight to make this country great again. We need the people like us to stay and show everyone what makes England a great country. Don't give up.

No, I'll stick with it. I'd miss travelling to London.

Walking along the Embankment,
and Westminster.

I'd pine for the many wonderful museums.

The art galleries.

Walking into a lunch time concert.

I would miss strolling along the Kings Road.

I 'd fret for Hampstead Heath, where Sir John Betjemans footsteps can be traced.

Soon I would be weeping for those gentle rolling hills of home, the tiny cottages, the village cricket match on a Sunday afternoon; men still playing, as the last light throws it's shadows over the pitch.

I love my country. I'll stay, and if I can, help to make it even better!

And lastly, on April 23rd. I'll fly the Union Jack and the St George flag from my home, and just let anyone try and stop me.

No, I'm not the slightest bit racialist.

Its not worth righting us off without thinking about it for a while, you gotta remember that we are the only liberal nuclear power left, which means we must have something really strong in our electorate and parliament (I mean the system, before anyone starts going off on one about Blair etc.). We have free education and healthcare, which is more than most can say, as well as the healthiest economy in the world. The scare over immigration is just a hyped up paranoia employed by xenophobes and puritans to get us scared enough to vote for them and taxes are the cost of having such a successful country.

Granted the weather sucks though.

No.

I'm proud to be British. I disagree with some of the foreign policy decision made by this Government (especially the invasion of Iraq), but I am proud that my country is seeing a growing standard of living with more people owining property than ever before, unemployment at near record peace-time lows, taxation lower than it was when I first became able to vote, a healthcare system that is universally recognised as better than most of the rest of the world, and that has people of many cultures, many societies, contributing to our society. If people opened their eyes and their minds, they would see a great country getting better, partly thanks to the contribution of people from other countries.

And how frightening that so many people answering this question sound just like those who sent the Jews to their deaths in the Concentration Camps in the 1930's and 1940's.

No I wouldn't choose to leave. There is a lot wrong with this country, you haven't even begun to scratch the surface with that list, but if you move to the USA, if you don't have money you die. There is no back-up and nobody that cares, or Japan, if your lucky you could live in a room 8x8x6. There's a lot more wrong with the rest of the world too than we realise just by looking out our own window, at least I know whats wrong with this country and have learned to live with it!!!

I can see exactly why you'd feel that way though.

Would I leave? Possibly, if the place gets any more full of the white trash, "Jeremy Kyle" addicted, cap wearing illiterates that pass for urban, white English youth these days. These are the true embarrassment, valuing celebrity above achievement, acquisition above attainment.

At least most immigrants can read, write and want to work. I'm they are desperate enough to want to live amongst such halfwits.

I'm German and I can remember the "Auf Wiedersehen Pet" times very well - British economy on its last legs and all the English builders on the German building sites. None of them learned to speak German. So complaining about immigrants on one hand and wanting to become immigrants yourself on the other has made me giggle...

But I do agree that the British government is screwing up big time at the moment and the standard of living is dropping fast. Can't believe that Blair got re-elected the last time!

I have travelled over most of this planet and stayed in most countries during military service, and I'm always glad to be in ENGLAND. Believe me when I say there is no where better. I'd fight and die for this land if I had to, and the way things are going, I just might have to soon, RULE BRITANNIA.

Get me out of here now. You're right. This country has gone down the drains. Planning to go to an american college in 2 years so after i shall probably live in the US. Everything in the US is so cheap. Petrol (gas) is 90p a gallen. Thats bout $1.70. Housing is so expensive and crappy and the immigration is way to high. The native language now is Polish.

If I could afford to go tomorrow I would - without a second thought.
